All travel coaches will need at least a US Soccer Grassroots License to get a pass to coach within any of ENYYSA leagues.

In conjunction with US Soccer Federations, the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association’s Coaching Education Program offers the latest US Soccer Grassroots License courses. The Grassroots License Courses focus on the age-appropriate needs of players at the 11v11, 9v9, 7v7 & 4v4 levels.
Grassroots Courses are offered in online and in-person formats.
Online Courses are two hours long and are offered by U.S. Soccer are available 24/7 on their website and can be taken at your convenience.
In-Person Courses are run by Eastern NY Youth Soccer instructors and consist of a two-hour classroom session and a two-hour field session. Specifically, candidates will learn more about:
- the basic needs of grassroots players
- the basic structure of the game
- the basic structure of a training session
- the basic tasks of a grassroots coach
